Yes, timeshare sales spiels are usually free -- the last one I attended furnished me with a reasonably good dinner before the arm-twisting session. However, as an insurance agent, I learned that I got better results from promotions of that sort if the potential client had to pay a nominal fee to get in. Made it seem more valuable. The actual fee was insignificant in terms of my revenue, but the percentage of positive response was much greater. It's a mind game. Have I mentioned recently just how glad I am that I'm not in that business any more?
