My little town is preparing for its annual festival, "Middletown Days." The Central City Park Committee which is responsible for the festival has given the local business association permission to use the outdoor bandstand area for free on Sunday. We simply need to determine what we should do with that space. Now, we could easily set up vendor tables, but we want to be creative and memorable. There are going to be a lot of boths there that are your traditional jewelry, tie-dye shirt stuff. We have been thinking about setting up an area where military families can make free phone calls using Skype from laptop computers. We are also thinking about handing out "goodie bags" to the public and door a door-prize drawing at the close of the event.
What are some clever items we could include in the goodie bags besides flyers and refrigerator magnets and water bottle clip-ons? What other things might we do to make this outdoor, once-a-year event memorable?
