I am curious if any members of this network combine online resources to achieve their goals.
For example, I am trying to help a local church create a significant buzz for an event it plans to hold on October 31st, Halloween. This event has been going one for 16 years. It is certainly nothing new for the community. But, that does not mean the community is going to pay attention. So, this year, the church decided to add Internet communication to its traditional promotional resources, such as word-of-mouth and the local newspaper.
A Squidoo lens was created and linked to an Evite invitation. Rather than sending out the Evite invitation the normal way through their own email system, a website link was created for the Evite. Email addresses and phone numbers for local businesses were uploaded into a Jott database. Consequently, one toll-free call to Jott could alert the members of the entire database both by email and voicemail that a harvest party was occurring and to RSVP by clicking on the Evite invitation link on the Squidoo online lens, which was a link in the Jott communication.
Squidoo, Evite and Jott are all FREE online services. Is anyone else using such services or others in combination to create a "buzz" for a special event?
